This is a scabbard/sheath for a bokken (https://tinyurl.com/y8szv4uk) training sword and is optimized for swords 40'' and under. This project requires: -Sheath Mk1 (for the full scabbard 2 of these pieces are needed) -Sheath Mk2 -Sheath Mk3 - Krazy Glue https://tinyurl.com/yaocwg49 (or Soldering Iron or both) -Sandpaper https://tinyurl.com/yd9cu2x9 (Optional) -Wood Stain https://tinyurl.com/y9u6hl7h (Optional, but only applicable if you use wood PLA) - Wood/Metal Finish (Optional, but only applicable if you use wood PLA) Construction of full sheath/scabbard: -Print out two of Sheath Mk1 -Print out Sheath Mk2 and Mk3 -Slide the pieces on the bokken (from bottom to top) in the order Mk1, Mk2, Mk1 (the second one), Mk3 (on top). Make sure the printed piece aligns with the curves and edges of the sword. -Use Krazy Glue and/or a Soldering Iron to secure the pieces together DO NOT GLUE THE SWORD TO THE SCABBARD -[OPTIONAL] If you have sandpaper, sand down the scabbard -[OPTIONAL] If you used Wood PLA, stain the scabbard with Wood Stain -[OPTIONAL] If you used Wood PLA, wait for the Wood Stain to dry then apply Wood/Metal Finish Construction of small back scabbard: -Print Sheath Mk1 -Tie a rope or string around the piece or if you can make a hole in Sheath Mk1 and secure it over your shoulder -[OPTIONAL] If you have sandpaper, sand down the scabbard -[OPTIONAL] If you used Wood PLA, stain the scabbard with Wood Stain -[OPTIONAL] If you used Wood PLA, wait for the Wood Stain to dry then apply If you are working with a bokken of under 40'' you probably want to downsize the Z-axis height of Sheath Mk1 in your slicing software. Obviously this would be the opposite if you were working with a bokken larger than 40''. If the sword is around 50-35'' then there is probably no need to adjust the Z-axis height. If you want to decorate the sword you can burn (with a Soldering Iron) or drill a hole in the scabbard and tie a rope through it. Good Luck! P.S. If any cracks appear due to the wood finish drying too fast or any other reason, open up the cracks and extrude some extra filament to seal them
