EDIT: Just released this design - currently working on an extended version with a better part cooling duct with a 50mm radial fan. Will release the new version over the weekend. General: Extruder mount for Bondtech BMG + E3D v6. Made to be mounted on an aluminium bracket (linear rail). Open to any printer brand. I've included the CAD-files, feel free to modify it to your printer. This very version is made for MK10-extruder from Creality and it uses the stock fans. Yes, the silicone sock is mounted backwards, this was intentional to further insulate the mount from the hotend. Overview: Clamshell design, everything integrated. Wanted to have a small mount that takes only very little space, that is easy to print and easy to assemble. No problems with alignment, stability and positional accuracy. I also was aiming for maximum clearance between the heating block and the mount (for visibility and thermal insulation) and for a good, directed airflow around the cooling fins. Took me around 20 hours of CAD-work and various iterations until I got to this point (designed in SolidWorks btw). Assembly information: Assembly is pretty straightforward, the extruder assembly clips into place after the back half of the clamshell is mounted to the carriage bracket, the front half then secures it and everything is held together using the screws for the two fans. Stock fans btw. I designed it so that the part cooling duct can be exchanged easily, just like on the stock extruder. Things needed: - Aluminium bracket - you have to design your own. - 4 spacers Ø8 / Ø3 / 5mm thick (to give clearence between the bracket and the mount to feed the wires/cables through) - 4 socket head cap screws M3x10 Printing information: All parts print without supports. Should be doable on almost any printer. I recommend ABS or PETG for temperature stability.
