Weight: 420g Reduction: 79.1 % Hello to everybody, I can finally show you my creation. I ve modelled this bracket using rhinoceros, so i was able to think in a organic way. Tha idea is to create a bone, something hollow, shaped to resist to specific loads. The strucitre is reinforced where needed, using rims that recall muscles. The inside of the bracket is hollow, but i m still work to optimize thickness. I m confident to get under 400 grams working on the inside, but i wanted to share with you my work to get some feedback About FEA testing, the bracket passes every test with good results. I ve posted you some scrrenshots of the FEA testing. I did them in inventor 2014, but i ll run other tests with more serious gear, like Abacus for example. about the constraints, waitng for GE response, i ve decided to go the safe way: i did like they said in the contest description, infinitely stiff bolts and pin, and i actually get good results in terms of quality of the simulation. You can see i don't get big red spots near the holes. Hope you like it and i ll post the new version soon!
