This ornate fastener originated from the southeastern wing of the excavations at James Madison's sprawling estate, Montpelier. Captured in precise detail on June 15, 2018, using a NextEngine Desktop 3D scanner, the intricate holes within its surface were digitally filled and meticulously edited by the accompanying software. Museum specimen number 20594.BB is proudly displayed courtesy of the esteemed James Madison's Montpelier. The digitization process was generously provided by the Virtual Curation Lab.
