Book Holder

When you first buy a brand new book, you want to open the book and have the book stay open so you can read in comfort. However, there is a process all new books need to go through which is called “breaking the binding”. All new books have new bindings which makes the book close shut if not held open. Until the book is used for a while, the binding does not break. My redesign idea is meant to hold the book open along with the comfort of a handle. The book is meant to just slip into the holder. The bottom piece is meant to hold the book open. In order to not block the actual text of the book, the bottom piece was made to not protrude too much upwards. There is also a support for the binding and a handle in order for comfortable use. With the handle, you are allowed free movement as you read the book. Also, besides just reading a book, many people also enjoy taking notes on their book. With my redesign invention, you are granted simple note taking as it only requires one and to open and hold the book comfortably while you read and/or write.FDM Fusion deposition modeling and PLA material was used.School: Bergen County AcademiesInstructor: Joseph Defalco
