Book Ring 2.0

Book Ring 2.0

This is a redesign of the book ring I uploaded earlier. It is worn on the thumb and is designed to aid in one-handed book reading. It is slightly longer than the original, has rounded corners to protect your first editions, and was made a little more flexible by removing some plastic from the interior of the wings. I have provided two models; one with "EX LIBRIS" printed on the wings, and one with blank wings that you can personalize with any CAD software if you wish. Both OBJ and STL files are provided. As with the first model, the ring may be worn with the words facing the book, or facing the reader. Comfort should dictate the manner of use. I have included pictures of the "EX LIBRIS" model. Please excuse the hangnails adorning my cuticles. I have only printed this in ABS, but PLA should work fine. I used medium quality print standards for this print (0.2mm layers) and it turned out great. This is not a piece with tight tolerances so just about any print parameters should result in a useable print. As stated in the original project, this was inspired by an Instructable (http://www.instructables.com/id/How-make-a-reader-ring-with-Sugru/). Happy reading!
