During Homeoffice I started using my headset with a softphone instead of hardware desk phones. But I had complaints, that my voice was too soft so I started holding the microphone towards my mouth, which was much better. Then I designed a microphone arm that just clips on to the headset cable, and now it is working nicely. The original cable does not need to be modified. Let me know if it works for you.
