Bot Window for Cold Environment Printing -- SVG file

thingiverse

This derivative work exists to provide an SVG file for beauturner's "Bot Window for Cold Environment Printing" (Thing 15375). Beauturner's thing only provides a DWG file (which includes the rest of the ToM wood pieces as well). For cutting my panels, I needed an SVG description and I figured that other folks might as well. Thus, what is offered here is merely the result of converting beauturner's work from DWG to SVG by way of DXF. And then removing all the ToM pieces leaving only one of the panels beauturner designed. Instructions In beauturner's design file, the panels are shown mounted with the fasteners on the sides. They can also be mounted with their fasteners on the top and bottom (as I have done in these pictures). Either way, you can mount them with M3x16 fasteners. I used some small "standoffs": glow in the dark "melt-a-beads" from my kids' arts-n-craft supplies. The first file, panel.svg, is a metric SVG description of one panel. The panel is saved as an SVG group using blue lines of width 0.010 mm. To use panel.svg with a commercial service such as Ponoko or Shapeways, you will have to copy the panel from panel.svg and then paste it into one of their SVG template files. The second file, panel-lizard.svg, also includes a tessellating Escher lizard which I lifted from seanmichaelragan's Thing 14544. Rescale and cut-and-paste to fill your panel with additional fun. (However, keep in mind that commercial services will charge you for every stroke of the laser -- you pay for time under the laser and more strokes mean more time.) The coloring in panel-lizard.svg follows Ponoko's guidelines.
