ah well, another breath of the wild guardian leg segment. didn't really like any of the other models that are on thingiverse (sorry, people...) so i made another one. it snaps together (always a »hopefully«) and has enough slackness to make the legs flexible. this is a work in progress. i wil definitely try to make the connection more stiff, so that the legs actually become poseable. also, the connection to the body is still missing. finally, i will definitely make a version for dual extruder printers. but until then, have fun :) update 2v8: it works much better now. i created a somewhat serrated top of the joint sphere on top, and an edge that clicks into that structure inside, so now there are at least 3 seperate positions of the joint that stay fixed. it is not perfect, but much better than it was in the beginning. of course, much is dependent on the amount of over-/underextrusion your printer/filament is used to. also, i reduced the complexity of the thing, and made it more like the »real« thing. i noticed that a leg is actually made up of two different kinds of elements, one for the »upper« half and another for the »lower« half. the design is minimally, but noticeably different. so my goals for the future are to improve the resolution-independence of the design, to create an element that interfaces with the main body, and to split the design twofold: two different things, with two different materials. i will continue working on this, but it will take some time until i can put more time into it (famous last words). v4: completely remodelled the conenction. i gave up on posable, and instead made four different elements that click into each other at different angles. advantage: the legs are now so stable, you can let the weight of the whole guardian rest on the legs. just pick the right elements to get the form you need. i will take pictures and post final designs once i'm really done; just wanted to throw that in here since i consider it essentially done.
