Bowden Extruder Mount for PSM

thingiverse

This Thing is a Bowden mount for the acclaimed E3D Titan extruder on top of the Printrbot Simple Metal. Its orientation allows the filament to be drawn from an overhead rack, a standalone spool holder set behind the printer, or mgx's awesome spool holder (visible in these pictures), found here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:846520 Enjoy! Feel free to remix it or contact me if you have feedback you'd like to see me implement. Print Settings Printer Brand: Printrbot Printer: Simple Black Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: .254mm layers Infill: (doesn't matter) Notes: This file was designed to print best with .5mm perimeters; the thin area which acts as a spacer between the motor and the Titan will turn out best if you manually set the perimeter extrusion width to .5mm. (I used a .254mm layer height because it's one of the optimal heights for an imperial threaded rod. The stepper driver for the Z motor won't have to deal with non-accumulating rounding errors that can periodically affect your surface finish. If you have an aftermarket threaded rod, or simply prefer a different layer height, feel free to use any layer height you wish. It's not critical to the design.) Post-Printing Step 1: seat the mount on the 12mm rods. Step 2: feed the cable through the rectangular slot and straight down to the printer's chassis; attach the Titan. How I Designed This When I upgraded to a Titan/v6 extruder/hotend pair, I needed a Bowden mount, so I modeled this in Autodesk Inventor.
