Bowden extruder

Bowden extruder

thingiverse

This is my own design of a spring loaded bowden extruder. It has an easy to use quick release lever for easy manual filament loading and unloading. It uses a standard 608 ball bearing and a few 3M screws. The spring I use is the same type commonly used for mounting the heatbed on 3D-printers. The tension on the spring can easily be adjusted by adjusting a screw if needed. The design is prepared for installing an optional short piece of bowden tube under the bowden coupling for guiding flexible filaments. I made this using SketchUp, and I have included the skp-file as well. Feel free to modify if you want. Print Settings Printer: Homebuilt core-XY printer Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.4mm nozzle, 0.15 mm layer height Infill: 50% Notes: Printed in PLA, 3 or 4 shell layers.
