Box Button

Many times I have needed a way to hold down the lids of corregated boxes without using tape. This is when I came up with the idea of making a "Box Button" that attaches to the lid and enables the use of a rubber band or a string to hold the lid closed. I used ABS material with 100% fill. To install the button, first use a small Phillips screwdriver to punch a hole through the box, insert the button, and then push on the retaining washer from the opposit side using a nut driver to push aginst the retainer. You may want to carefully snip the end of the tip off but, without getting to close to the retainer. I found that a #32 rubber band was about the right size for the "triangular" lid closure.
