I wanted the perfect lighting setup for our bearded dragon's 40 gallon Zoo Med terrarium that we purchased from PetSmart. Unfortunately, they only have the dome lamps that only cover one third of the terrarium's total length. We wanted a lighting setup that provided both heat and UV-A/B lighting across the entire back of the tank. I finally decided to get two 18" dual Naturalistic lamps from Zoo Med. They are not designed to fit a 40 gallon tank which measures 36" inches in length, though they almost fit almost perfectly on top. Each lamp has a socket for both ONE heat lamp and ONE UV lamp. On the left I put a RED night lamp and on the right I put a BLUE daylight heat lamp. I noticed there is a gap in between, and if I only had a bracket that the lamps could snap into, it would not only support the two lamps and keep them from buckling into the screen mesh, but it would also help keep them centered and aligned with the edges of the tank, so as long as you secure the bracket centered with two-sided tape.
