Brackets for PAX KOMPLEMENT Pull Out Clothes Rail

The IKEA PAX is a 32mm European cabinet system. It has many accessories in the KOMPLEMENT family including this pull-out clothes rail. It is designed to mount to the bottom of a shelf, but I wanted to mount it to the side of the cabinet. These brackets adapt the mounting ears of the KOMPLEMENT rail to the 32mm shelf pins on the cabinet. This was a huge CAD victory: I mocked up the side of the cabinet and the ears of the rail and drew brackets to join them up. The very first print (with some hole cleanup) mounted to the rail and the holes perfectly aligned to the cabinet. No trial and error at all! The front bracket is slightly crooked in the STL (relative to the axes) due to the way I flipped it onto its side for printing, but the part itself is square. Instructions Mirror the back bracket if mounting to the right side of the cabinet. Print one of each bracket (I used 40% infill for strength). Clean up the holes and ensure the 5mm pin fits cleanly but snugly into one of the shelf pin holes. Slide one ear at the front of the KOMPLEMENT rail into the slot in the front bracket and use one of the screws that came with the rail to secure the inside ear to the bracket. Use another one of the screws to mount the back bracket. Use left-over screws from other IKEA projects to secure the bracket to the PAX cabinet. If you need to buy screws for this they are called Varianta screws (or just "Euro screws") and you can get them at most hardware stores. The result seems to be sturdier than the rail itself.
