BraidOMatic
thingiverse
This is a freely available, modular braiding device that's designed for easy duplication with access to a laser cutter, which makes up 85% of the parts, and a 3D printer, responsible for just 2%. The rest consists of readily available off-the-shelf servos, cables, and Arduinos. The machine software can be accessed at https://github.com/stiganielsen/BraidOMatic, allowing users to test it without even needing the device itself - a lot of fun indeed. Coming soon are videos and documentation for the electronics involved. For those interested in getting started right away, demo and assembly videos are available here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J5TlEtO3AZ4, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABSGXa-DyNk, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VuXLrSnNTk8, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LRD22-3IHKc.
