This 3d model is a board that can be used to teach people braille. All of the letters of the alphabet are on this board. The V2 version can be read by totally blind people due to guide lines on the outside. One dash is the first line, two dashes is the second line. Project: Braille Learning Board Objectives: This model should teach both blind and regular people how to read braille in a simple way. Audiences The intended audience is anyone who has a sense of touch. Both blind people and regular people can easily learn the braille alphabet through this model. Preparation: You need little to no experience to use this learning tool, only a 3d printer to print it! Steps: To read the braille, place your finger on the first set of dots. You should feel only one dot under your finger, representing the letter A. To go to the next letter by sliding your finger over to the next set of dots. Once you have gone through the first 13 letters, move down a row and restart the process again on the letter N. The guidelines on the outside can be used to find the starting position. One dash is the first line, two dashes is the second line. Results: Students should have printed a easy to use braille alphabet board. This board should teach them how to read all of the letters of the braille alphabet. A suggested grading assignment would be to have the student randomly touch one of the letters and have them tell you which letter that is.
