Brass Case Sorter

Brass Case Sorter

A great job by macobaco on the original design. I remixed it to make it more like the commercially available ammo sorter. There are 3 stacking trays. The top one separates .45 ACP cases. The middle one will separate .40 S&W/10mm and the bottom tray will catch 9mm/.38. Trash and .22LR cases will fall through the bottom tray. Hold the stack over a trash can as you shake the stacked trays to sort the cases. It will work best if you don't overload the trays so there is room for the brass to move around. I printed my set with the same colours as the commercial set. Yellow, Blue and Black. As macobaco mentions, you may need to do some minor filing to remove any first layer overextrusion if the cases are not falling through as they should. Take a .40 case and run it through the slots in the top tray. If it doesn't move smoothly then file or sand carefully until it moves through smoothly. Same for a 9mm case and the middle tray. EDIT - June 18, 2019 Added a tray with no slots to act as a trash catcher on the bottom.
