This is for the DIY laser cnc/engraver sold out of china as the "30x40 CNC Laser Engraver". It is an excellent hobby tool for the price but needs a lot of upgrades. This cable chain system prevents the y-axis wires from creeping into the work area while the CNC is running. Without some system to hold those wires you run a risk of burning through them. A major deficiency in the sellers offering in my opinion. This is less important than the x-axis cable management. I have a solution for that posted as well at... https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4010022 The two sides of the assembly (left and right) for each of the two y-axis motors are identical mirror images. The front end of the left and right side cable chains attached with a slide-on frame over the stepper motors. The cable connector retains the frame and therefore no screws or hardware or modifications to the machine is needed. Two screws are needed on each frame to attached the first links. I used M4*8 but a 6-32 would probably work fine as well. The back end attaches with a replacement to the back corner legs. Simply remove the existing back corner legs and attached the back end mounts with the same screws. On my 30cm by 40cm assembly I needed 16 links on each side. I find the overhang of the thin walls of the links difficult to print reliable so I have added small support pads in those locations that need to be snipped off with your side cutters once printed. If you want a set of these parts without the support pads let me know and I will post them or send them to you. System works well and seems to solve the problem of the wire management.
