Broken Telescoping Luggage Handle Fix

Broken Telescoping Luggage Handle Fix

thingiverse

Do you have rolling luggage where the telescoping handle gets stuck? Usually there is a telescoping mechanism inside which you access through a zipper, and there are 1-3 stops where a button pin clicks into place. When the internal telescoping mechanism gets bent or stops working, the button on the handle no longer releases these pins and your handle is stuck. After accessing the internal mechanism by opening your luggage and unzipping the bottom, print several of these clips and attach them to the square tubing to cover the button holes which will prevent the locking pin from engaging. You must cover all of the holes on whichever tube is causing the issue. If you have to block the holes on both sides then your handle no longer have the stops, but it should go up and down again so you can continue to use your luggage. Less than a dollar of filament to avoid buying expensive new luggage - maybe you can now justify your expensive 3D printing hobby! I printed with 90% infill so it would be strong, and I also clipped a few extras onto the tubing inside my luggage just in case.
