Ganesh - the chubby, gentle, wise, elephant-headed deity, known as the Remover of Obstacles. Individually cast of heavy recycled bronze. Ganesh, or Ganesha, the son of Shiva and Parvati, is the deity whom worshippers first acknowledge when visiting a temple. He is associated with Om, is the patron of letters and learning, and is invoked at the start of a new venture or journey. It is said that meditating on Ganesh assures success.
