Filippo Brunelleschi, the most elusive and secretive genius, embarked on technically impossible task in year 1418. It kicked off the European Renaissance and rest is history Brunelleschi Ox hoist lift designed around 1418. First person to invent reverse gear since 3000 years use of this type of mechanism. The reverse gear was used to mitigate the problem of un-harnessing the oxen, turning the oxen around and re-harnessing. As per the Youtube video, this model has 3 speeds per the drum size and gear ratio. Oxen are also included as a re-mix (ox.stl and ox harness.stl).
