This small brushless DC motor can be controlled with anything from a simple RC flip-flop to an Arduino and is part of the Learning in a Makerspace chapter of my new book new book "The Makerspace Workbench" from Maker Media! Cut out the parts on 1/8" plywood using a laser engraver and glue together. Each coil is made from a 1/4-20 x 1/2" bolt and wound using coated coil wire. The armature is made out of a short piece of 1/8" aluminum rod and two donut magnets.
