This is mount for [BTT's Smart Filament Sensor](https://github.com/bigtreetech/smart-filament-detection-module) for Creality Ender 3 series printers that have been converted to direct-drive setup where the extruder motor mount on the X gantry is vacant. The mount replaces the lid of the sensor (lid is part of the mount) and has been designed to fit right where the extruder stepper was mounted. Sensor is then connected with the extruder via Bowden tube to ensure movement is tracked accurately. This is very important or you will get false positives from the sensor. Use another short tube on the input side, to ensure smooth filament entry into the sensor. Printing: Print positioned with the NEMA17 face down with supports enabled. Recommended settings - 4 wall layers, 9 top and 9 bottom layers with 25% infill for part strength and rigidity. Note some of the bolt holes will appear plugged. This is intentional - a very slim layer is added to trick the slicer this is a bridge and not add a support underneath (also called "sacrificial layer"). Simply use a 3mm drill bit to clear them. It is also recommended to re-drill all holes with the same bit to ease bolt movements and installation in general. You'll need 4x M3 nuts and M3-8mm bolts to secure the mount to the NEMA17 plate, as well as 4x M3 10 or 12mm bolts to secure the lid to the sensor where the thicker part is. The last 2 bolts can be those the sensor came with. Additional cable management arm can be mounted on top of the bracket to aid with cables going to the extruder (see the pictures). The red one you see on one of the pictures is the one that Micro-Swiss direct drive kit included. ~~I may add one similar to this very design for convenience down the road.~~Adding my own designs for the cable management arm to tie up the X gantry cables to the top of the NEMA17 mount. There is no real advantage of going with the L shaped one. The straight one will be as strong.
