### Update V2 2018/11/10 CoverD and coverC changed , rounded curves, pi mounts removed (for easier installation), added a 8mm switch port, no usb hub, more internal free space, no need to replace pi's usb ports, add extra strengh to screen hinge on coverD. ### Features - Visible IOs: RJ-45, hdmi, 3.5mm, usb 2.0 * 6 - Display remaining battery power (if the powerbank circuit support that) - Charge while running (if the powerbank circuit support that) - Remove and install sd card on the Raspberry Pi is super easy - Minimum screws. ### Tips - The powerbank circuit looks powerful, but the lcd draws a lot of currency, so the Pi always show the "lack of power" mark on the screen. - The usb ports on Pi are replaced with two AF90 usb female ports. The two free ones are connected to the keyboard dongle and the usb hub circuit. - I print the coverD with transparent PLA, looks great. - The powerbank circuit uses a lockless button **(click to power on, push down for 4 secs to power off)**, but I bought a slide switch, so, I have to manually simulate the lockless behavior on a slide switch. - The 18650 cells physically support the keyboard. But it is a little crowded. If you use 14500 cells instead, you'd better print several holders to support the keyboard. ### Future plans I am satisfied with what I made, but there is still some improvments I can make. - A thicker coverD, no need to remove the usb ports on the Pi, 18650 cells don't touch the keyboard, no internal usb hub, larger free space (for larger battery capacity & currency or some kind of air cooling method). - Many defective details. ### BOM List | Item | Count | Unit Price (CNY) | | ------| ------ | ------ | | **Core** | | Raspberry Pi 3 | 1 | ¥193.0 | | PcCooler heatsink | 1 | ¥19.9 (8 pieces) | | AF90 USB female | 2 | ¥0.1 | | Acasis USB 2.0 hub (4 ports) | 1 | ¥10.9 | | Vontar Wireless Keyboard with touchpad | 1 | ¥28.0 | | Sandisk TF card 16G | 1 | ¥38.5 | | **Display** | | 50P 7 inches 1024*600 lcd screen | 1 | ¥63.7 | | 50P hdmi lcd controller board (a smaller circuit with no VGA output) | 1 | ¥40.0 | | HDMI wire | 1 | ¥21.5 | | **Power Supply** | | Micro USB female | 1 | ¥0.1 | | SS12F15 slide switch | 1 | ¥0.05 | | 18650 cells | 4 | ¥0.0 (from my dead laptop) | | SM 2P Male Female Adapter | 2 (pairs) | ¥0.48 | | PVC heat shrink wrap tube for 18650, 85mm width | 20cm | ¥1.0 | | PVC heat shrink wrap tube for 18650, 30mm width | 50cm | ¥1.0 | | Power bank circuit 5V 2.1A | 1 | ¥5.8 | | **Assembly** | | M3 lock nut | 2 | | M3 x25mm screw | 2 | | M3 x5mm screw | 9 | | M3 6+6mm copper pillar | 4 | | M3 x18mm screw | 7 | | M3 6+6mm copper pillar | 4 | | M3 6+6mm copper pillar | 4 | | M2 x10 screw | 2 | | M2 nut | 2 | | **Sum** | | | | ¥424.61 (about $65.9) | ### References The keyboard frame is modified from the "Raspberry pi laptop by surferboy", other parts are designed originally.
