Buffer Tube Cover

Buffer Tube Cover

thingiverse

This is a Buffer Tube Cover designed to slip over a standard mil-spec buffer tube of an AR15 airsoft rifle or pistol. This is not a stock, and can not be shouldered. It only acts as a cheek rest, and adds to the aesthetics of your AR or other airsoft variant. If you have a smaller printer, there is a two piece design for you. If you have a large enough printer, there is a single piece design. I also included a "test" piece to see if the cover will fit your AR15 (no need to waste filament if it won't work). For installation: Print out the test piece first to ensure fitment. Then print out your cover, and your pin. If you use the two piece model, it is best to glue them together. Putting them on the buffer tube helps align it while gluing. Placing a small patch of felt velcro on the end of the buffer tube helps with fitting. On the buffer tube, carefully measure out to the center of the last hole. Measure the same distance on the cover, and mark it. Drill out a 1/4" hole on the cover at the mark you made on the under side of the cover. Drop the pin into the hole. You can either glue it in place, or heat up the pin and "solder" it in. NOTE: The installation pin isn't necessary, but helps keep the cover in place. It can be removed again by carefully drilling it out. You may also choose to drill out a hole and use a set screw, instead of the pin, for easier removal. DISCLAIMER: I do not take responsibility for how you choose to use this design. I am uploading it with airsoft guns in mind. I am not responsible for any damage you cause to your gun. This is not a firearm, and can not be converted to fire anything. It is a tubular piece of plastic, with no firing mechanism at all in it. The program I used to design this keeps exporting my models in metric (even though I have chosen inches). Multiply the scale by 25.4 and it should fit. Sorry for the inconvenience.
