Building Blocks

thingiverse

The grooved generic building blocks design is aimed at allowing people to print and build custom 0.5" frames or enclosures and fill the walls in with thin panels of other materials by sliding them in the grooves. Alternatively, the grooves provide a friction surface for thicker panels. My intention was to build a compact enclosure for my printer with walls made from those ~1mm thin plastic cutting boards. The idea behind the three grooves is so that either one wall can be installed in the middle (or any of the other two positions) or two walls installed on either end thus resulting in an air gap between them for better thermal isolation. Upload backlog: Variable length - screw 45° angle 60° angle 30° angle Curved block - x° radius Hinge block Adapter to extruded aluminum slots Specialty parts specific to the CR-6 SE Distant future: Parametric blocks
