Bulbasaur Planter / Vase

I’m excited to share my fan art version of bulbasaur! I designed this bulbasaur planter as my last minute entry for the XYZ Color Printing Design Competition. This model took over 28.5 hours to 3d print!! When the print was finished I airbrushed bulbasaur to create the fully colored model. I used Paint 3D on the computer before airbrushing to study how I wanted the coloring of the greys to blend with the blue and green to get the shading right. I used a number of different programs to create this model. For the body I used Zbrush to create the general form, and then Meshmixer to reduce the polygon count and create more of an “origami” look. I then used SelfCAD to create the patterned bulb and merged the bulb onto the body. I wanted to keep the bulb more detailed so that your focus would be drawn towards the flowers to highlight his abilities. #colorwithXYZ
