This large bronze sculpture was cast by Léon Mignon (9th April 1847 - 30th September 1898). Mignon was a Belgian sculptor working in a realist idiom, known for his depiction of bulls. He set up his studio in Paris in 1876 in collaboration with Paul de Vigne and won a gold medal at the Paris Salon for his sculpture Li Tore (The Bull-Tamer). Many of his sculptures can be found across Brussels, including The Botanical Gardens and The Musée Royal des Beaux-Arts.   This object is part of "Scan The World".
