Bump guard for Decora wall switches

Bump guard for Decora wall switches

thingiverse

Outside my house I have motion sensor security lights which have a manual override switch inside. The switch inevitably ends up getting bumped, resulting in me coming home to a dark house. The screw holes on the bump guard match up with those for the wall plate, so the plate doesn't actually need to be removed. The guard is narrow enough that it can be installed on a multi-gang wall plate alongside other switches without causing interference. With the guard in place the switch can still easily be operated through the holes if need be. Since the guard is just attached with two screws it can be easily removed; perfect for renters like me. Also - please excuse the grungy walls! Print Settings Printer Brand: LulzBot Printer: AO-101 Rafts: No Supports: No Infill: .2 Notes: I printed it with white ABS to match the wall plates in my house but you can obviously use what suits you. Post-Printing Finishing I printed it with the "outside" face on the bed, so the smooth side is what's most visible once it's installed. This also eliminates the need for support material.
