Burma-Shave Road Signs

Burma-Shave Road Signs

thingiverse

Three of my favorite Burma Shave roadside poems. The Burma Shave campaign started in 1927 and ended in 1963 with some 7000 signs spread over 45 states. Although most of the signs were white on red, those in South Dakota were white on blue (red was restricted in that state to offical warnings). The models are designed so that the text can be printed separate from the base plaque. The letters of the text can then be dropped into the matching insets on the plaques - the text letters are generously undersized. The text and plaques could also be combined for dual color printing (the models will align properly), but I have not tried it. The signs are 197mm x 57mm x 2.5mm
