This is a design and analysis project that I completed while pursuing a project internship at Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation. The objective of the project was to re-design and optimize the floor of a bus body for weight reduction. The project resulted in achieving 25% weight reduction. The bus floor was originally designed in CATIA V5 and the simulation was carried out in ANSYS 12.1 Mechanical APDL. However, for the ease of viewing, I have converted the design to SolidWorks files. Comments and suggestions are highly appreciated.
