West Coast Remix You asked for it! Finally, here it is: A Butter Pig fit for those big, stocky blocks of butter they serve up West of the Rockies. The Latest Addition to the Butter Pig Barnyard Family of Friends This is a remix of Blitzjon's Baconlicious Butter Pig, which was a remix of my original Butter Pig with quite a few improvements to make it more easy to print. Phoolster pointed me to this article on Wikipedia which I used to get the dimensions right. When I designed the original Butter Pig, I had not idea butter was sold in so many shapes and sizes around the world. Within the US alone, there are actually two different competing sizes of sticks of butter. Although they weigh the same amount, the sticks on the West coast are shorter and fatter than the longer, thinner sticks they sell in grocery stores east of the Rocky Mountains. A Complete Tear Down and Overhaul Every part had to be resized, including the dies. The feet were almost reusable, but because this pig sits with a wider stance, the feet are now four separate feet instead of two attached sets of two. The tail and the body are now shorter so this should be able to be printed on just about any printer. Multiple Storage Options There are two versions of the knoll, or pig pen. One is full size, and holds three dies, the other is smaller so that it will fit on my printer, and holds only two. I have printed several of these (the one seen here is made from Food Grade PETG ) However, I have not been able to acquire a stick of Western-Pack butter for myself to try it out. I did use a raft on some of the parts like the dies because their shape makes them more vulnerable to curling.
