This is a stylized butterfly design which is good for a pendant, or put together with other butterflies to make a mobile. It was an experiment to see if I could achieve a "lacy" look with a Makerbot Replicator 2. Update 2014 Mar 12: I added an .obj version Instructions For a more sturdy feel, use: infill = 0% number of shells = 2 layer height = 0.2mm (default) For more delicate look, use: number of shells = 1 You can get very nice bicolor look if you switch the color of the filament partway through when it's printing the outline only. You can also bend it by using a heated glue gun (without the glue) to bend it lengthwise along the thorax. The best size seems to be approx. 4 x 4 cm. But I have also printed it at large as 10 x 10 cm.
