C-Spot Robot
thingiverse
C-Spot is an innovative robot designed to move towards a beam of light upon detection; its name derives from this function. The initial prototype was constructed using wood, a wipes container, and rubber bands alongside essential electronics. A Bill of Materials (BOM) has been uploaded, with the total cost estimated at approximately $110, although prices may vary depending on shopping around and existing resources. An updated BOM is available featuring two tabs, potentially reducing costs but requiring additional modifications. The robot's wheel features a servo arm, derived from pilotjunki's design, enabling smooth movement. A custom deck has been designed to accommodate a 4 AA battery holder and a 9v battery, along with an Arduino UNO. Instructions for assembly have been provided, with detailed instructions under development. A YouTube video demonstrating the build process is available at http://youtu.be/j9fov7pS8wI. The Arduino code has also been included, with plans to develop a software calibration tool to standardize servo stopping numbers for continuous rotation models.
