The idea of this cabinet came from the fact that it is not that convenient for your family to have DIY laboratory at home. At the same time it was not convenient for me because all the staff was spread out across the house. The original idea is presented in STL file. I "ordered" a place at home from my family. This place is able to hold a cabinet at size 100cm x 80 cm x 240 cm (Width x Deepness x Height). The final cabinet was a slightly different from the original idea but it became even more powerful and convenient. The base is a cabinet made from 18mm plywood. It has 3 levels. Level 1: it is bottom side. On the right hand is a box for CNC machine. The machine itself was described here http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:80306. Machine is placed on a rolling platform and can came out of the box for the full size. I printed chain for wires (AC powers + USB) to keep all things at right place. On the left side I have 3 rolling boxes suitable for the storage. To keep using a maximum space all 3 boxes was designed without left & right sidewalls. Level 2: It is a main working area. It has rolling desk and place for all needed equipment (like soldering station etc.). It also incorporates 29in display and slim desktop PC. There is a big storage area just under the desk. I printed tool holders designed to be freely placed on the back side of the front doors of level 2. More about holders you can get here http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:246988 Level 3: most important to have here two rolling boxes of similar size, left and right. On the right side the box is specially designed to hold Replicator2. Design allows to print inside the box, replicator is connected to UPS and to PC. There is also a small PLA storage area just near the printer. Rolling box on the left and regular place on the top are both for the storage. The cabined is plugged externally into AC power outlet. The AC and DC power was distributed inside the cabinet. LED lighting is used to light up everything. A special care need to be taken for the heat dissipation. I have big ventilation holes for this on the back (air IN)side and on the left side (air OUT). OUT is supported by 2x2 120mm funs. It seams that Replicator box do not need an intensive ventilation. Printing inside the box eliminates all problems with sticking to the platform. I do not need helper disks any more. But it is suggested to have this tunning be in place http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:204997
