This is a cable reel for storing your cable quickly and in a compact manner.

Just center it on your cable, wind it up and you're ready to go.

When you need to use your cable, just pull the cable from both ends until you have the length you need.

It will accept cables up to 6 feet long, maybe a bit more, maybe a bit less… this depends largely on the cable diameter.

Printing

The included gcodes include the honeycomb patern as shown in the pictures. One has larger honeycomb (lower infill %) and the other has smaller honeycomb. These were achieved using modifiers in Prusa Slicer.

Only samall honeycomb pattern provided for the outer shell as this part is much thinner and small infill % would make it too flexible.

If you work from the STLs and want the Honeycomb patern (or any other infill patern), you will need to create it yourself using modifiers. If not, everything is just as functional with full top and bottom layers.

Everything is printed with largest face down, no supports.

Assembly

This is a very simple print, 2 parts, no glue, no hardware, just insert the cable and snap the two parts together. Disassembly takes a bit more effort (still pretty easy), push the lid to one side and squeeze the base and you should have no problem popping the top off, you're not meant to take it appart every time you use the cable and this way it wont open on it's own in your pack sack….

Enjoy!

UPDATE!!!

Someone ponted out that the radius in the center might be to tight and might affect the cable long term so I made new version with a larger radius that will be better for the cable in the long run. It still accepts 6ft cables as long as they are thin. I imagine the model is easily scalable to fit your needs.
