This species, known scientifically as Cacops aspidephorus, was first described by Brown 1913 and belonged to the order Anapsida, more precisely the family Scapherpetontidae. Cacops aspidephorus exhibited certain distinctive traits: an elongated snout-like projection that made up its lower jaw bone and three pairs of tiny vertebrae which connected to its front limb. It also possessed an upper palate plate which consisted mainly of several fused teeth. These findings provide the essential details about this ancient reptile from long, long ago.
