This is a redesign of these bearing designs:Cageless, Multilayered, Full Complement Axial Ball BearingandCageless, Multilayered, Full Complement Radial Ball BearingThis time, I used more numerous spherical rolling elements, of smaller relative size compared to the whole bearing. Also made sure that the balls in the inner and outer layers are, in pairs, aligned diagonally not just with the centres of the spheres in the middle layer but also with their respective points of contact with the running surfaces of the channels extruded from the inner and outer bearing shells. The raceways in the bearing shells which the balls roll along inside of themselves have a circular cross-sectional profile and its radius is slightly larger than the radii of the spherical rolling elements so that there is only a point of contact, rather than a contact patch, between the balls and the bearing shells. The respective centres of the balls in all three layers of spherical rolling elements as well as the centres of the circular cross-sectional profiles of the channels through which the balls roll through and also the contact points between the balls in the innermost and outermost layers and the bearing shells' raceways are all tangent to a common conical surface which is concentric with the bearing's central axis. This is intended to minimise sliding contact and maximise rolling contact.
