This tool is for finding the lobe shape and angles used with the camshaft mounted in the engine. This one is made specifically for the Alfa Romeo NORD 2 liter engine cylinder 1 cam followers, and has room for my 12.3/310 and 12.2/290 cams. It may however work well with the other NORD engines as well. This tool is inserted over the camshaft, seating on the cam follower in order to measure the actual lift of the valve at crankshaft degrees (found by using a degree wheel ). You can use a TDC gauge or similar measurement device with the measurement range you need.
