Exploring new concepts leveraging the clarity of our clear resins has been an exciting venture. After sanding and polishing, the potential applications seem limitless. Here are some images showcasing this project's progress so far. This design was created rapidly in AutoDesk 123D Design and printed on our Form1+ using our expertise. The bulb component was crafted with Spot-A clear HT resin, while the base was made from MadeSolid general purpose black resin, both parts printed at a resolution of 100 microns. Once printing was completed, the bulb portion underwent meticulous sanding with progressively finer grits - 220, 320, 600, 1200, and finally 2000 - followed by polishing with all three grades of Novus plastic polish using a buffing wheel. The next phase involves running a small LED light through a channel I designed in the base's back, which will then be directed into the bulb portion at its bottom, further accentuating the bulb's features.
