Camelbak magnetic tube clamp

After seeing that the new camelbaks include a magnetic tube clamp, I wanted one so I modeled this after theirs for my older generation M.U.L.E. NV. I had some neodymium magnets lying around that I used for this. Composed of three parts: The base clip, which has a cavity for a magnet (1/4x1/8x1/8 in.) to be placed inside. This clip can attach to the sternum strap, or the webbing portion of the backpack strap. The magnet cover, to be slipped over the magnet cavity The tube clamp, which also has a cavity for the same sized magnet to be placed inside Once you place a magnet inside the base clip, make sure you have the polarity correct for the magnet that goes inside the tube clamp. Works best with cube or cylindrical magnets. Everything works great after the print. Once you put everything together, your tube will now attach with the always satisfying action of magnets! Now your camelbak hose won't be flailing around! Print Settings Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer: MakerBot Replicator 2 Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: .20mm layer height Infill: 5% Post-Printing Printed in PLA I had to remove the supports inside the base clip with small pliers, which was a bit of a challenge, but in the end, the magnet cover fit tightly inside without having to add any glue. The magnet in the base clip has a little room to wiggle, which actually creates a nice clicking sound when the tube clamp attracts to it, just like the camelbak version. The magnet for the tube clamp was a little harder to install because the hole was pretty snug. Had to hammer it in a little, but the uploaded files have accommodated a slightly bigger hole. My magnets were from K & J magnetics, 17 cents each (1/8 x 1/8 x 1/4 inches) How I Designed This I looked up the camelbak magnetic tube clamp in Google images, then just modeled it by eye. I used a caliper to take some measurements, like for the tube clip diameter, and the strap slot width on the base clip.
