Camera stand adapter for official raspberry pi zero cases
thingiverse
I prefer official Raspberry Pi Zero cases, which often come bundled with a Zero Kit. However, I had no idea how to utilize the camera lid in a realistic setup. For my babycam project, I liked the idea of repurposing these cases. My solution is an adaptor that fits onto standard camera stands. As a bonus, it offers the option to add 3mm infrared LEDs. To build this adapter, you will need an additional non-metric nut that fits standard camera stands. If you don't have one, you can print it from thing:2501430. After several pre-design iterations, I determined that three LEDs provide sufficient extra light for my needs. You could simply connect three in series and directly to +5V, but I added a MOSFET inside the case to make the LEDs controllable. The final design (0_4) comes with a cable guide to hold the plugged-in micro-USB cable and an optional cable for the microphone.
