Canoe Fishing Rod Holder

This is a simple Universal Fishing Rod Holder that clamps to the side of a canoe securely with two thumb screws. The Holder is fixed to the side of the canoe with friction caused between the Cork (represented by the color green) and the canoe material. The Cork is not only used to protect the canoe from dents and marking caused from the clamping pressure, it is also environmentally friendly. On the inside of the Holder there is a "lip" that stops the holder from sliding up when there is a load on it. It is not clearly show in the images or CAD files, but at the bottom of the vertical shaft there is a stainless steel bearing that allows the fishing to move freely towards the line and fish. Being in a Canoe, the current and wind can cause it to constantly change direction but with the bearing, it automatically aligns itself so it is even more user friendly. The angle of the fishing rod can be adjusted by loosening the thumb screw below the cradle that the fishing sits in, then simply move it to the desired angle and tighten the thumb screw. If a large fish takes the hook, the angle of the rod will lower to the water. This is so the pressure is not transferred to the canoe. The dimension of the clamp body are 100mm x 55mm x 56mm. When it is compacted it uses a size of 230mm x 150mm x 100mm. This can be stored in small compartments, in your bag or left on the canoe. Listed below are the materials used with their identification color; Stainless steel - 3mm (Shiny Silver) Cork - 6mm (Green) Stainless steel threaded rod M8 (Shiny Silver) Wood (the same type "Trapper Canoes" uses to match the theme) Recycled ABS plastic (Black) My design fits with the Trapper Canoes style because the simplicity makes it unique and user friendly. I have incorporated recyclable materials to make the product environmentally friendly and affordable to manufacture. My goal was to make the product look as if it was sold with the canoe and not as an optional extra. I also had intentions to engrave "Trapper Canoes" logo into the stainless steel but did not want to have Copyright Infringement. Please leave a comment if you wish to know further information.
