Canon 40D and 50D battery door

*Edit: I made some very slight modifications to the door, uploaded the new WHOLE KIT and DOOR files if you see two of them, pick the most recent, i'm having trouble with thingiverse right now hi! I bought a brand old 40D camera, but it didn't have a battery door (came with a battery grip, door removed, I forgot to ask for it upon purchase). So I made one. very complex part, with a ton of fiddling, but it fits perfect. I printed mine out of PETG, which is ideal because of it's springiness - the clip part has a plastic spring, so most likely PLA wouldn't work. not sure about other materials. To make it work, you print everything, then, you stick the little oval button in the hole of the "y" shaped bit. that'll be the button. I used superglue to hold it together (I made the tolerances loose because my printer suck; I ended up filling the original to fit, before I adjusted the file). then you lay the button/clip on the inside of the door, with the button you just slid in poking through the whole in the door. Final step: you take a little bit of sticky tak (poster gum), double sided tape, whatever works, and you glue the backing on top (you glues on the sides, nowhere near the button, or else it'll be stuck- duh). And done. Don't be afraid to file parts that are too tight, but honestly, it should fit perfect. Good luck, and if you like it, click on like, that's going to make my day. **I'd love to see some makes... just a tiny picture, nothing like the photo novel I did...
