I needed to remove dust from inside my Canon 50mm F1.8 STM lens. The front lens holder requires a custom tool for removing it without doing any damage to it. In some tutorials, others are using a flat screwdriver head or the metal caliper to open this lens, however I found the front cover to be slightly glued inside. Trying to open the front lens holder using the screwdriver head or caliper might end up in damaging the plastic front lens holder due to the part being glued in one point inside the lens. The tool has 4 indentations on the sides which fit with the cuts on the front lens holder. Thus, even a glued front lens holder can be unscrewed without damaging it. Once the cleaning/repair is done, the tool is used again to screw back the front lens holder Printing: In order to have a good fit between the tool's indentations and the front lens holder cuts, I printed the entire part using PLA at 0.2mm resolution and 20% infill. No need for supports or extras
