Canyon Impact Protection Unit IPU E117-12

I designed this handlebar stopper to fit my Grand Canyon hardtail's impact protection unit. The original one broke quite often and it is hard to get the spare parts (e-mail to the customer service or a short visit at Koblenz..) It does not have exactly the same dimensions as the original part: I designed it with less clearance between headset-cap and stopper to make it more robust against impacts. It should be printed with ABS and with 100% infill. PLA failed immediately (layers got sheared off by the IPU clamp's nose). Installation of this stopper is at your own risk. This part is designed to protect the frame's top tube from impacts of the bar-ends but it should fail before the retaining screws get teared out of the carbon frame. As the component characteristics from a 3D printed part are subject to considerable uncertainty, this failure behaviour can't be ensured. The original stopper is mounted with hollow screws with predetermined breaking point at the head. I am using this stopper now for several months and it performs fairly well. No substantial damage after several impacts.
