This silencer shape worked well for my fan (no cooling issues, and cuts out the high frequency whine well). When I printed the Red Squirrel Compact Fan Housing, I wanted to keep my silencer. So this is a mashup of the silencer with the original Red Squirrel hotend fan cover.
