Capacitive Moisture Sensor Housing

Capacitive Moisture Sensor Housing

thingiverse

This is a housing for a capacitive moisture sensor which i have now worked on for two months. One common problem of these sensors is that they arent enclosed/protected against water ingress. Because of that i have set out on the road of enclosing the sensor without the help of expensive materials, special tools, glue or non printed parts. As of now the housing is not watertight but to be honest that is not what it is supposed to do. Because of the struggle and the quite high cost associated with this project i am now stopping at this point. Waterproofing 3d-prints while using only ASA/ABS and TPU without a toolchanger is quite the challange and as of now i have other projects to tend to. That said it would be nice if someone would improve upon my obviously flawed design. There are two extra pictures attached which show previous attempts. I would love to see a live hinge design as that would be even easier to print and assemble. If you only want to print this then i would suggest to use the softest TPU/TPE that you have. You do not need to resize the part because there is already a 3% size increase put in to combat warpage from ABS. I do recommend ASA. For the assembly you are going to need: 2x M3x8 Inner Hex machine screw 2x M3x4x5 heat insert 1x shrink tube TPU/TPE ABS/ASA FAQ: What if i want to measure how wet the Mariana Trench is? If there are any problems please contact me. As already said i would love to see this project progress. If you want to see more interesting projects i would suggest my Insta: @infiniteplaceholder Fusion360-Link: https://a360.co/3NBOuYE
