Inspired by the bottle caps I searched for a cap for soda cans, to protect them against insects on our camping trip. I found nothing for my needs, so i designed my own. Because it is primarily for the kids, so it should look like a laughing clown. It can be easily snapped on or off with the small flap on his head. The bottom side has a rim so no liquid can spill out. To prevent a rotation of the cap the small extrusion fits into the opener, so only small rotations are possible if the clamping to the can is weak due to tolerances. There are two versions, single material and one for multi color prints. The STL of the MM-Version can be separated in the slicer into to different parts. The color inlays are 0.4mm/2 layers for enough opacity. Because this were my first tries with filament changes while printing, the quality is not the best, I’m still learning this technique. I tried two multi material version of PLA an to single material in PLA and PETG an made a practical test on the holiday. I had no issues with tolerances or leakages while drinking using multiple different cans, so i publish the design now as ready. Until now we always washed them by hand, maybe PLA is no compatible with the dishwasher. Every maker has to consider he hygienic aspects of 3d printed parts an food by himself! I would be happy to see fotos of other color prints as well as feedback for optimization and useability.
