I needed an easy way to store my batteries without leaving them plugged in to the DJI charging hub. If the batteries are left plugged in the auto discharging is disabled and the batteries can swell causing a fire hazard. These caps allow me to pack my batteries and hub into the mini 2 carrying case for easy transport.
